Tewkesbury Independent Aid

T.I.A works to get aid to people in areas of the world effected by war and disaster, regardless of Race, Ethnic or Religious background. In the past they have worked with BHA and, like them, after many trips to the Balkans, in 2001 T.I.A. switched their efforts to the Ukraine, in particular the Berezna Orphanage.

Aratta (Ukraine)

Aratta is a community centre set up in Chernigov in the Ukraine with the support of British Humanitarian Aid. Its aim is to help the poor and needy of Chernigov by distributing aid and by setting up a support network to cover all aspects of their difficult life. Many people who originally came seeking help are now helpers themselves. Their help extends to a large number of schools, homes, hospitals and orphanages spread throughout the Ukraine. Three more centres have been created in the District towns of Gorodnya and Shchors with a third in the village of Makosheno in Mena District.
